RESULTS

OVERLY

Overachieve through personal transformation. And transform such as it leads to accomplishment and fulfillment. Otherwise, what’s the point of success and flying high?

Usually, people come into coaching with one or two objectives.

Usually, my clients leave with way more than what they initially wanted, in most areas of life – from career and wealth, to relationships and health.

The thing is, to (over)achieve your objective, chances are that the most significant work will be on yourself. You cannot do what you are not. Bolder and more effective actions would come from a bolder and sharper you.

Before you know it, you will be showing up differently in other areas of your life. For example:

  • aiming for the highest impact at work could make you think about what else matters, outside work
  • managing your energy for a sharp mind could lead you to good habits and recharging activities
  • learning to properly connect with your loved ones will help increase your influence over that difficult colleague, boss, or client, as you become a more astute listener and influencer
  • being aware of your emotions and triggers, and regulating your reactions at work – well, this comes in handy in any circumstance.

Everything is connected. We’d be ticking spoken or unspoken objectives, all aspects of life, 360 degrees. Bosses, co-workers, clients, spouse, children, other family, friends – they will all notice you show up differently.

That’s nothing short of a transformation journey and the measure of true high performance: balancing and flying high in all areas, eventually.

Not only a successful leader but an accomplished person. OVERLY accomplished.

APPROACH

HI – Human Intelligence

Formal training and constant research in psychology and neuroscience back my promise to act as a catalyst for your Human Intelligence.

The next thought I had after I decided to exit corporate life and become a coach, was that I needed to become an expert in human nature. A mere coaching certification was not going to cut it. What makes people tick? How do we work, what is our “user manual”? I started with the academic route and right from the basics: B.Sc. in Psychology.

Today, 17 years and hundreds of books, courses and podcasts after, from neuroscience research to pop-psychology and personal development gurus, I still state that psychology is not a “proper” science. You should see the shock on people’s faces…

What I mean: there is definitely tremendous progress in understanding the brain and updating and integrating theories; but in practice, there are still dozens of theories and models that psychologists, psychotherapists, leadership consultants, and coaches use. Some are highly intellectual and sophisticated (and marketed). There is nothing that, when people put their mind to it, cannot be made complicated!

I’ve reviewed most of them and stopped at one ”model” – empirical but so solid, that it lately got traction in the scientific world, eventually.(!) Truth is, in fact, much simpler and has that duh! (obvious) ring to it.

We’ll look at us, humans (HI – Human Intelligence) in 4 interconnected dimensions:

  • we exist in a body and act through that body
  • we think and learn
  • we feel and relate to others
  • we have this unique gift of self-reflection, observing and talking to ourselves from a higher self, spirit (source of wisdom and values)

All four dimensions are orchestrated by the brain. That’s where neuroscience comes in, revealing how it all connects, thus, helping psychology further gain rigor as a science, providing one accurate, testable, consistent, and predictive understanding of the human mind.

IQ – Thinking, learning

EQ – Feeling, relating

BQ – Health, actions

SQ – Identity, higher self

Don’t be fooled by its simplicity. There is much depth and complexity to it. That’s why accurate psychology and neuroscience knowledge will allow us to navigate smoothly through the intricacies of the human system.

I will sleekly facilitate insight that will make you see things clearly and think differently; and feel and relate differently (to circumstances, other people, or yourself). Some insights – very powerful, truly wow! But that’s not the most important part of coaching. Insights and inspiration are now common currency, you can get plenty from books, conferences, podcasts, social media, or AIs.

Here’s where HI coaching fully kicks in: translating these insights into specific actions that will move the needle towards what you want. Small action first, if need be, or massive action for the ones born ready; but always bolder and smarter.

What’s that? You’re not sure you can take those bold actions? You mean your vision will remain a daylight dream, while your frustrations will keep haunting you as nightmares?

Yes, you can – and you will! That’s where SQ kicks in, the most prized intelligence you’ll develop: guiding yourself through identity, purpose, values and virtues. One key virtue of character? The power of your word – to yourself, first and foremost. That will enable you to cultivate even more grit and steel, to dream big and act bigger.

I’ll hold you to that. I’ll be by your side, have your back, and, in front of you, I’ll shine your light – all around, like an invisible cocoon; soft, yet uncomfortably tight. That’s where metamorphosis happens. That’s where a caterpillar grows wings, to fly high in the sky as a butterfly. (mega-pun intended!)

OVERLY to you!

HI was, is, and will be the ultimate form of intelligence. And being a human is the ultimate experience. Beat this, AI!

ME

COACHING

You cannot truly take people where you haven’t been yourself first.

Coaching is my profession, but also a philosophy of life for me – a continuous practice of reflection to grow and perform better at… anything. One life – we better make the best experience of it!

I walk the talk and aim to inspire by the person I’ve become and am still becoming. I know that might sound presumptuous. My journey isn’t flawless, but I am committed to growing as a human being: Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit.

Because, as a coach, you cannot truly take people where you haven’t been yourself first.

I remember a question from a psychotherapy class during my psychology degree: Can a therapist help a smoker quit if they themselves smoke?

What do you think? If you wanted to quit smoking, would you choose a therapist who smokes, one who doesn’t, or one who successfully quit? (The same applies to any other addiction.)

I may have a wealth of experience (business, coaching and life), a head infused with science, a pretty sharp mind, a quite wise soul, deep psychological insight and a heart full of love and belief in people.

But you know what else I’ve got? Grit! I’ve faced my share of trials and tribulations, repeatedly so, across many areas. Yet I’ve never let them keep me down, make me bitter or break my spirit. Always moving forward and upward. Game on, life – bring all you’ve got!

I live by a quote attributed to Chesty Puller, a US Marine Corps Officer. During the Korean War, the worrisome news broke: “We are surrounded by the enemy, 8 divisions!”  “All right”, he said. “So they are on our left. They are on our right. They’re in front of us. They’re behind us…     They can’t get away from us this time!”

Contaminating you with grit and belief while enabling your resourcefulness, so you can unfold your own OVERLY life.
We won’t give up until you get there and beyond!

YOU

HI-flyers

Birds have wings, they were meant to fly. Still, some live in pens, while others are flying.
In a world of birds, you would be a soaring eagle, not a pecking turkey.

More likely, you already have some altitude – you work in fields that are setting the pace in business and society: financial services, IT, professional services consulting, engineering, research, legal, health care, politics, arts and entertainment.

But what got you here won’t get you there. You see a higher orbit and you want to make the leap in an epic way.

Or, maybe you got off course and lost some altitude. You lost your mojo and some soul-stifling ache creeps in:

  • Deep and acute. You are in some sort of crisis (work or other), induced by external factors or by yourself. Either way, you want it to end asap.
  • Chronic, numbing, alienating. You’ve been living far too long in a reality that’s not yours – layers of lies and expectations from others, pressure to fit in. What are you still doing in this situation?
  • Tranquilized, by some form of escapism or addiction. Acting out. Or not acting at all. Unable/unwilling to face it. You are the best-kept secret. Time to be made known and unleashed.

Whatever your story, whatever your excuses, the OVERLY is always something you can create from now on.

What is that higher horizon for you, what’s in it? No matter the specifics, I bet the ultimate horizon is an OVERLY successful, happy, fulfilling life.

Get OVERLY fed up with the status quo and claim your place among the soaring eagles.
